How To Put Together A Scrapkit

This tutorial has been written to help all those of you out there that have decided to give scrapbook kit making a go, I am not saying this is the only way that it is done, there maybe other ways to do this but this is the way I put them together so thought I would share it with you all.

You will need the following supplies :-
Paint Shop Pro. You can download a trial version here

You will also need all your elements, papers, ribbons etc open in psp.
I am assuming you have all your ribbons, papers etc on different layers such as the screenshots below.

Now we need to put all the things you have made for your kit onto one image.
Open a new image the one I have used for this particular kit is 500 x 500 pixels but you can use whatever you like
Now starting with your papers we are going to add everything to this new image.
Click on one of your paper layers and click copy then paste this as a new layer onto your new image.
Make sure you rename each layer as we go along so we dont get lost and forget what is what such as below.

Repeat this with each paper you have for your kit until you have them all on seperate layers on the same image.
Now to make sure you can see all your papers at a glance grab your mover tool and move each paper across leaving the first one in place as below.

Now all you need to do is copy and paste each item you have for your kit onto this image making sure you add each item onto a new layer.
A good idea is to place things in order of size such as Frames etc before wording depending on which is biggest have them towards the bottom.
Move everything around so that you can see everything you have in your kit such as the screenshot below.

Now you have everything onto a new image all named layers so when you offer it for download people can see exactly what is on each layer.

Before you we save this go to Windows, Duplicate so we now have to images but this second one is just going to be used for your preview picture.
Merge all on this image and resize to a size you wish to use such as 400 x 400.
Save this image as a jpeg and call it whatever you wish.
Working back on your kit image close each layer down by putting a x in each layer as below.

we now have to add our copyright information, name of kit or whatever else you would like to add to it.
As per before make sure you have these on different layers to everything else, but unlike the other layers make sure you leave these showing.
Your finished kit should now look like this with all layers hidden apart from your copyright information.

Save this as a psp file so that everything stays on different layers, if you try to save this as a jpeg it will merge all layers.
Then upload your finished kit to your site with your preview for everyone else to enjoy.

Thats it hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Thank you for trying it.
